It was an honor to write for The View of DC, Washington’s first public observation deck. Boasting 360-degree views of DC, The National Mall, Maryland and Virginia, the attraction needed copy as beautiful and inspiring as the location itself. Below are some of the various technical writing projects I completed for them.
Descriptive Language

Your journey begins on our glass-enclosed elevator, taking nearly one-minute to soar nearly 400 feet above our nation’s capital. When you arrive at the top, you’ll be greeted by 360 degrees of never-ending views. Take in DC, Maryland and Virginia’s most iconic images and landmarks while soaring above.
Don’t miss out on Hover DC our immersive flyover experience, virtually zipping you from one landmark to the next over restricted airspace. With our Windows Into History interactive touch-screen displays, you’ll tap and scroll your way to a deeper understanding of what you’re observing. Enjoy a drink in our full-service café and bar on the 31st floor or check out The View | DC Champagne Bar on the 32nd floor.

Located on the 32nd floor, The View | DC offers guests a premium experience to enjoy a glass of champagne or sparkling wine while taking in our dramatic views 400 feet Washington, DC.

The View of DC opened on June 21, 2018 and is the second tallest publicly-accessible point within the DC Beltway.
The View of DC (VDC) attraction is the premier way to experience the DC region and boasts the ideal orientation point for locals and visitors, offering unobstructed and unparalleled 360-degree views of the National Mall, DC, Maryland and Virginia.
Beyond the views, VDC hosts weekly experiences including: Monday group fitness and wellness programs, Tuesday arts & culture events and Wednesday food and drinks specials. Friday is reserved for Happy Hour, featuring drink specials and breathtaking views of the sunset.
Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle, the 12,000-square-foot interior is flooded with natural light through three stories of floor-to-ceiling glass windows and features custom mill wood accents. A private champagne room and outdoor terrace offer additional elevated perspectives for guests. The mezzanine floor can be rented as a private event space and full attraction buyouts are also available.
Perched 387 feet above street level at the Rosslyn metro station, VDC offers views of nearly every DC landmark, including The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, National Cathedral & Georgetown.
The View of DC is equipped with “Windows Into History,” a 14 interactive screens, which provide facts and timelines about the monuments and landmarks in-view.
Historical figures come to life in “Stepping Into Perspectives,” an exhibit of holographic displays narrating milestone moments as guests make their way through the attraction – a passage of time ending with 400-foot views of the monuments memorializing these moments in history.
Guests can capture a complimentary souvenir photo with the National Mall as a background with our BriziCam installation that allows guests to take control of a professional camera and flash using their own smartphone.
The café offers quick bites, Northern Virginia craft beers, wines and seating for groups of all sizes.
In December 2018, VDC debuted an immersive flyover experience. HoverDC takes guests on an aerial journey over DC’s landmarks and no-fly zone through advanced audiovisuals and ventilators placed around the attraction.
In January 2019, The View of DC unveiled The View | DC, a champagne bar and newest contender to DCs rooftop scene. VDC also features photographic works of the DC area from locals and visitors.
